Bruce, every time I see pics I think how you guys have sure have a full greenhouse.....even during a "non-blooming month" you certainly have a lot of color....and I'm certainly jealous! :-D

I noticed some Nepenthes in there....do you have many of them? And do they provide any insect control at all? I had a couple of them back at the old house in the sunroom but they died with a crazy May-ish/summer freeze we had years ago. Some growers up here recommend Sundew or Pitchers around the orchids to help prevent gnats, etc...

Hi Derek! Hope you had a nice holiday; missed seeing you around here.

We only have one Nepenthes. We had two, but my dogs ate one of them when I had them out in the rain one day. This one survived and has done well. I am not sure if it eats many bugs, but it sure grows. It bloomed this year too - which was odd. Paul (pavel) told me what sex the plant was from the blooms on a thread here somewhere.

    Cheers,
    BD

I feel that its just so refreshing to be surrounded by those healthy roots of your orchids. How i wish i could grow healthy and thriving orchids just like yours. By the way, do you also sell some of it?

Not any more. Now, I just give and trade plants with friends and enjoy the hobby.

I have not measured lately, but around three feet. The oldest leaf is dieing off now and the newest leaf is huge. I keep hoping for a spike!

    Cheers,
