Yes, we can leave them out all year, thank God

Did you stake that to the ground somehow? I'm saving up for a shade structure, but mine is going to be tiny--- 10 feet x 6 feet.

Your orchids are going to be sooooooooooo happy!!
They did stake it out to the ground. 10'x6' shouldn't cost that much. We paid $500 to build this but I know it's much cheaper if we just build it ourselves, we just couldn't find all the parts in one store.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure they will like it.

Thanks Bruce, yes the people who built it gave us an extra 6'x20' shade cloth

I will post more photos once we move all the orchids

Do you plan to hang your plants underneath it? Will it be strong enough to support the weight of the plants if you do so?

I did hang a few pendulous cymbidiums, the pipes seem strong enough.

Here's a few more photos with most of the plants moved, as you guys can see we have room for more.....

I tried to make my own orchid bench which came out really good, you can see Tiki in the first photo admiring my work of art (who needs a husband...lol just kidding), I used some kind of redwood. I just don't know how to make the legs so had to use blocks for now.

You make me want to go buy supplies...that looks like it would work in my backyard. We moved and i've been thinking about a set up like that. Simple...I wonder if a plastic cover would be enough here in the winter to keep them all snug. Hmm...thanks so much for the pictorial...you gave me some great ideas! And I love the benches...even I could make those.

Thanks Tom, yes most of my collection now are mainly cyms. I got a lot of divisions and some seedlings after helping a friend repot some of her collections.

Looks great! Your plants will love the natural sunlight coming through the net. I can just imagine in advance how your grow area will look like when all plants are in full bloom!

That's what's so nice over there in the U.S. (in California) - you've got sprawling, big lawns. Enough space to house lots of orchids.
Unlike here in Manila, huge lot areas are becoming uncommon since most new residential houses being built follow the smaller townhouse-style design and others are high-rise condominiums sprouting in the city like mushrooms.

Most residential homes with ample lawn space are located outside of the main city of Manila, in the nearby provinces or farther away.

    I'm envious.
