Check out this thread...starting an Orchid Addicts Anonymous group is not a new idea on the forum! I had a little fun modifying the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous to fit our cause...you can find it at this link to another thread on the forum! I'd forgotten about it until I was reading the last few posts to this thread and had myself a good chuckle re-reading them....

Here is the newest version of the ET grow room. We've moved to a new house and my husband built me a room in the basement. Now I can walk around inside instead of just reaching into the tent. They would not have all fit back inside the tent anyway. The shelf with all the mounties originally held my whole collection about three years ago!!!!

Sounds like a familar song to me...

    First a windowsill...
Soon a shelf, then a dinner table ...
    Let's make it a room ...
    Soon a whole basement ...
You still have a lot space for your 'chids, Shalene! Looking nice!

    Cheers. Hoa.

    Watch out, Hoa!

With that much room to grow, well lets just say...the mud wrestling may not be between two...

PS - Great space, Shalene - thanks for the pics!

Rank newbie-to-the-forum that I am, perhaps it is vulgar to expose myself so soon,
but here is the scene of my crimes against the orchid kingdom:

Most of the shelf space belongs to the 'chids,
but for the winter months, they are joined by a few other tropicals.

Alas, everyone gets the same conditions . . . like it or croak.

Decompost, great greenhouse, everyone looks happy there. BTW, what is that gorgeous huge plant seen dead center in the interior photo, in the foreground in front of the portable heater? It is to die for!

Shalene, love the ET growroom, just be sure to use black plastic over any basement windows so the local police don't come a knockin after seeing the electric glow ( suspecting you've got more than just orchids down there, i.e. wacky tobaccy!!! LOL ) I see you're in MO, and I here that this as well as moonshine are popular pasttimes! Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I've always wondered if that's what Gin is doing down there in Southern Misery! Hah!

We had a break in soon after we moved in and I made a point to explain to the sheriffs that I would be growing "orchids" in the basement under lights. He didn't seem to believe me even though they had to fight through the jungle on the porch. I have left the windows uncovered. I am hoping that they will think that I would surely cover them if I was doing something wrong!!!
