    Default Went orchid shopping today

Hi everyone! Connie and I got together this morning and went orchid shopping. Here are some that "followed" me home. The first one is a B. Nodosa; The Lady of the Night, the next one is a paph; Hilo Quatal #1 Magic Leopard "Voodoo", the next a catt.; Blc. Hawaiian Passion "Carmela", and the last is also a catt but not ID'd. It is supposed to have large white blooms.

I am ever so thankful for a site like this. I am learning a lot, having fun, but most especially it is wonderful to be able to actually meet a member!

It was a nice hot sunny day for shopping. lol We were both sweating like crazy by the time we were done! It is always fun to go shopping with someone that speaks "orchid". Can't wait to see your pretty white blooms. That is a very nice cross, I have one as well.

Beautiful. That noid looks like it might be a cross with an Epi. maybe? Just going by the thin leaves and pseudobulbs.

It sounds like fun all around. Some very nice purchases, with I am sure more to come in the future (and probably not the distant future either). AL

Lovely acquisitions! The colour on the paph is fantastic. You are so lucky to have a member of OT to accompany you on the orchid 'outings'.

What's funny about what you wrote is that since the first week of May I have purchased 14 orchids. The first one given to me by my teaching partner started it all. So my count is 15. You are correct, definitely more to come! I need to coin a phrase I'll claim all my own and hopefully get everyone rolling, "If you know how many orchids you have, you don't have enough!"

I have been wanting one of these since I first saw it a few weeks ago online. Lucky for me a local grower had one. The disappointment, however, was that I could not detect a smell last night like the plants claims to have. Oh well, I didn't buy it for its fragrance but its beauty. This plant makes me smile.
