These photos were all taken looking towards more or less the same direction but they do show some of the location where I grow my orchids. The three trellises on the side wall behind me used to be covered with types of Passiflora which was a nice foil for the orchids. A couple of months ago I got rid because they had become the breeding ground of pests which had gone unnoticed until it was too late. So now it looks rather bare... earlier the lush growth was a little overpowering and made for a claustrophobic feel in the confined space.

Great growing space you have Igor, it looks very inviting to grow orchids and relaxing in the morning or afternoon. Congratulation on your beautiful blooms.

Thanks Gabriella. A conservatory is always a compromise: the easy chairs and coffee table take up growing room and have to be kept reasonably dry and clean! But it is nice to have tea or even lunch in there, relax and chat with friends, or just sit down and unwind...

My orchids grow suspended from the roof cross-bracing, some are hooked to the four trellises, some sit around on the windowsills, pedestals or on the floor.

It is a very differentl space in the warmer part of the year once the standard Cymbidiums are removed outside and the shading rolled down: the diffuse milky light is so restful and suits me just fine.

Hanging the trellis' on the wall and then hanging plants from there is a wonderful idea. I like the way it looks...and i'm thinking it would look and work great in a greenhouse as well. Very nice...thank you for sharing.

    Hey Connie!
Thanks for that. The trellises were improved (and stiffened) by fitting them onto a simple frame. Could be cool in a ghouse too. I guess a trellis like that could even be free-standing with a bit more woodwork to stand it up securely.

They are without a doubt my first love. They bloom several times a year, don't need to be repotted, and best of all the fragrance. What is not to love

Hi Egor, your pictures with orhids are so passionate. I am reminded of my plants I left back in care of my parents. In Enagland, all I have is Epishytes and my new orchid collection which is a rescued job from a person in London. I are for them and now they have bloomed. If I may ask, what kind of Cattleyas are those? I really like them too.

Hi Gurjeet! I am so sorry you had to leave your plants behind, so well done nurturing your orphans to flowering. That is a great thing. The Cattleyas' names are given in the first part of my post, above the pictures. The yellow one is unknown, the two bigger ones are Brassolaeliocattleyas originally from an excellent nursery in Germany. There are more flower pictures in my Introduce Yourself thread. I will soon be posting more plant photos.
