lovely care you give to your orchids, they look so healthy. I have a question on the third picture you have a vanda on the left side that looks a little bid like mine that gives me some headache as it has a long middle stem and the bottom leaves are gone and one after the other is getting yellow and falls off. The roots on the bottom look healthy but the middle stem looks yellow and dry. Also the seventh picture in the middle has a plant like it. Is there anything I should do differently? I water my vandas every day unless it is rainy then I water every second day. I would appreciate any help as I am worried and do not want to loose it.

That "palm tree" look can be caused for several reasons and cold weather is the biggest culprit. Vandas will drop lower leaves in cold weather, under stress and with natural aging. I've had some of mine for years. Most of the ones that I have that have lost lower leaves is either from aging or I bought them that way. If it bothers you greatly you can top a vanda that has root growth near the leaves to rejuvenate it.

Thanks for the info Cathy, what do you mean by 'top a vanda'? I think my vanda is rather older but I bought it that way too. Since then it has shad 2 leaves and i was worried that it has some kind of problem as my other vandas have not lost any leaves, they all have just gotten new once. I water them all the same. so you think my vanda is fine?
