Default My new orchid grow area

This is my growing area at the new place.
I no longer have the greenhouse, and have downsized to about 1/3rd of my original collection.

That's neat, John. And I like the garden table and chairs next to it!

I'm sure you miss your greenhouse, but this looks like a nice retreat! I would LOVE this space :0)

Downsizing can be so painful, but sometimes it's very rewarding in the end - especially when you have such a lovely retreat to enjoy those you've kept!

    More pictures:

Vandas in California experiment. 4 years running. I bought these as small seedlings from a vendor at a Santa Barbara Orchid Fair a few years ago.
They were in the greenhouse during winter and in the shadehouse the rest of the year.
This time, they will go inside the house with the phals during winter.
    Those are 5" S/H pots.

My indoor Phal area. They get light from an east facing window in the morning. There is also a shaded south facing window but I rarely lift the shade because it makes the area get too hot.

John, I was wondering, "What does he do when the Santa Ana winds blow through?" Then I saw the tied-down catts. Ah-hah!

Yup, pots are tied down so I can cart the whole darn shelf into the garage when it comes to that
