Cool Moved outside for the summer; doing so good!

I moved my orchids out on the covered porch this summer. At first I think they hated it, bu now all of them have so much new growth. One is growing two little babies on old spikes. I recently bought one new orchid from the local store for $8. But anyways, they love it outside soooo much. But in a month I'll be moving away to college. I don't know if I'm going to take them with me or leave them with my mom...

Summering my orchids outdoors is like a vacation for ME! So much easier to care for than indoors...I can go crazy with the hose and not worry about the carpet!

I have been thinking of putting my orchids out on my covered deck for the summer. What concerns me is probable aphids and other free-loaders infesting the orchids. How do i deal with this? I think they would be very happy as they would be enjoying the same Westerly direction/ light. Having my apartment looking out over a forest filters the hot West light. The temperature never gets scorching hot here, since i am on the Pacific coast.
