    Default Newbie Orchid Success

    Hi folks
I am now seeing some success at last with my orchid growing.

Since I found this site, I have spent all my spare time reading through old posts and gaining so much information, now I am confident enough to manage my orchids.

No longer throwing them out when their flowers die.

My growing area is a 4 ft wide south facing porch window with an 18" wide cill, I can get quite a few plants on there.

Average daytime Temp. 20c-30c nightime 18c-20c. For the winter there is a radiator in the porch and they stand on a thermostatically controlled heating mat in case they need it.

I had a phalenopsis starting to die, and repotted it, the compost had turned to dust, it sent out new roots and now has a spike starting to flower.

I got a no ID one which almost died but now it has beautiful pink flowers.

I know now how to water properly which is so important.

The dens are the same story, they are sending out keiki, so I must have been doing things right now I am a happy bunny.

I spend lots of time just gazing at them, repositoning and photographing them.

    Guyos

Congratulations for the good culture. Extra credit for doing so well with the dendrobium in the UK.

Obviously very healthy, happy plants. You've got alot of color there as your reward for tending these orchids so well. AL
