    Hi chrisa. Winter always gives me good blooms especially phrags and cattleyas but the back end of summer and the Autumn is when the buds begin to form. Don't ask me why because I have no idea why this happens. The temp is always set at around 13c and rises to whatever the weather dictates.

    Sorry for the delay in replying JYL but just returned from holiday. I presume you mean the pots with the cattleyas, No don't have problems with roots only decaying ones and I put this down to overwatering. I now use root pruning pots and large orchiata and the root growth is phenomenal---if you can grow roots you can grow orchids--well that's my opinion,
