    Getting closer.

My light stand and lighting fixture are all ready to go.

My bench and flood tray are a problem. The bench is not the size I ordered and the tray does not fit. So both are going to have to be adjusted to work.

Here is what it looks like right now. Next time I post to this thread, it will be complete with orchids below the light!!!!!

I figured out how to resolve the problem so all I need is 2 pieces of 1" sq tubing 4'3" long and it will sit as I had envisioned it.

So I have added the flood tray, some gravel (need more) and water with the orchids not in bloom. Only one phal under this lighting to see how it does. Also shown 4 oncidiums and 2 catts (including my immature one).

My fans will be in on Monday. Hopefully they can survive 2 days without them. Note the sectioned trays. These were gathered from one of my local nurseries. Free for the taking. I think they will be quite useful in my setup here. Now I can water without moving them.

Your setup looks great Harvey, you're lucky to be able to buy plants directly from a nursery.
I have to mail order most of the orchids like oncs, phals, catts as they are not available where i live, but on one side it's better that there are no nursery near by otherwise I'll be totally broke LoL...

    Arwan-
I can totally relate. I can't drive anywhere near my nurseries that sell nice orchids or I find myself pulling in and buying 2 or 3 at a time. I am up over 30 now. I do have some on order with orchids dot com. One order will be in today. ;o) They have some really nice ones. My wish list there is 15 orchids long already.

I figure I am up near the $1500 spent on orchids in the last 2 months. At least almost all the equipment is purchased. I just have to pick up my fans and I should be done withthe equipment side of things. I did just place another order for some new inner pots and pot hangers for the summer.

Note the phal in the pudding container. It arrived in the mail yesterday all potted in sphagnum so I repotted it. Once I untangled the roots, there was no way it would fit back into the 3" pot it came in. So I found this container to use until I have a more appropriate pot.

Again, you make me envious (out of luv of corse). I do have a deep and dark purple like urs on the left but near blackish/purple (really wish my phone was compatible to send photo) its amazing. I am envious of the orangish-yellow. Don't have one of those (YET).

Now I have no excuse for failure to re-bloom! I hope to have pictures of newly formed spikes to show soon!

This is exactly why I am glad I live in the West Indies cause I do not have to bother about winter and cold and too hot, root rot, and such stresses, just enjoy my orchids outside in the yard with about two hours of sunlight and shade the rest of the day, intermittent rain and winds that could probably make you take off of the ground if you are not too weighty LOL!!! so my problem is not even too much water because they are all mounted now and loving it, I use fungicide, and mix some Epsom salts to wet them sometimes alternating with orchid food. Harvey they look healthy though and all the best to your orchid fingers
