Indeed, you might be EXTREMELY surprised....like I was! Were they not in bloom when you bought them? I couldn't remember what color the flowers were (because it had been so long since I bought it. It actually sat in my pantry for about 1 1/2 years, where it's about 45°, with only a little spotlight on it. Last year, I finally decided my winter project would be to assemble a mini greenhouse, and put it in my kitchen (in the corner/the back faces an east exposure and the front faces a southwest exposure/NO need for artificial light...I put it in there and it took off right away!) MUCH LUCK TO YOU..LET US KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE SPIKES/BLOOMS!

Many thanks! I'm not ashamed to say so, but I had to look up where Cebu is (Phillipine island)....do you have many orchids growing in the wild? (I thought I remember someone else who lives there said there's plentiful wild orchids....no?!

I got my mini for $7 US at a grocery store, it wasn't out of bloom or on sale, but they have become quite popular in grocery stores for people to use to decorate with. I thought it was quite a bargain. I'm also one to rescue orchids at any store I find them out of bloom and marked down. I have a favorite big box store in our area that orders labelled orchids, so I can have some idea of what it is by the name. They also have the color on the label. I've gotten some cool orchids there!

I agree - it's fun to NOT know what something's going to look like....like a Christmas present! I don't think I know any place that has as good a deal as you mentioned around here. If you can get a NOID for $10, that's a good deal here!

You too are lucky to get them at that price....can't get them here in Michigan for that price. But as you said, if the leaves and the root system looks good, take it....it's a good deal.
