Agreed, It must be the UV treated stuff, mine has been up for about 5 years and not showing any sign of break down as yet. I too have used the Opal Laserlight, good stuff but damn pricey. Good luck with the new "house" , hope all your spikes grow straight and true.

Interesting discussion guys, the option I'm using as a second layer on my greenhouse roof are polyethylene twin wall panels that provide two air gaps, one between the outer layer and the poly panel and one in the material itself. The material is opaque and provides diffusion and 30% shade. Fortunately the greenhouse kit has grooves for the easy installation of these panels but an inventive mind could devise channels to hold them in place. My greenhouse is naked in the winter but I did find installing aluminet 50% cloth was needed in the summer to keep the structure cooler.

This house, as mentioned before, covered in Opal, Laserlite sheeting. I have not put any shade cloth up as yet & we have had some dirty hot days since I started putting my Catts in there.
There is NO sign of burn or damage to any plant, I have 4 or 5 plants with buds well out of the sheath & growing very well.
