    Talking Only 3 Orchids!

    Hi All:

I am doing a little research and putting together a list of the "Most Wanted" orchids on the market! So, the question is simple: If you could have only 3 plants in your orchid collection what would they be?

My are easy because I don't have that many and want a lot!

    1. Phragmipedium besseae
    2. Masdevallia Sunset Jaguar 'Regal Cat'
    3. A big ole pure white Phalaenopsis

I look forward to your replies!!!
    Pedro

    2. Paph roebelenii
    3. Paph laevigatum

ok, so is that cheating if I just put synonyms?

If I was to choose three different species/hybrid...

    1. Paph philippinense
    2. Paph wardii
    3. an albine Paph maudiae-type

    cheers

You do mean, 3 new plants don't you?? There's this Catt...a pure white...that has been on my list just forever!lol I couldn't do just three, sorry...for me Orchids are like rings...a girl can never have too many! But, if for argument sake, I could only keep 3 of my current hoard...
Phalaenopsis DaChien Spider, because my hubby got it for me and I love it.....
Lc. Little Marmaid 'Janet' my first really good growing baggie baby that is so pretty...
    B. David Sander one of my more exotic but fast growing new 'chids. They attached to their new wood baskets in a couple weeks and are growing like weeds!
but then there are several Dens, Catts and Phals that I would have to sneak in somewhere...no way could I go to just 3...maybe 3 dozen.

My most wanted list is always changing but for now it stands like this:

    1. Dendrobium bracteosum (pink/purple)
    2. Encyclia gracilis
    3. Epidendrum porpax

Wow! So far there is quite a bit of variation. I hope more of you reply. It is difficult to pick just three. Personally, I would like to have one of every genus and then maybe all of masdevallia. Of course, slipper orchids are so attractive!!! Then there is just the point of collecting to show the diversity within the family! That is my ultimate goal. Thanks for all of your replies, so far!!!

If I could only keep three of the ones I have, I would have to pick:

    1. Paph. Henrietta Fujiwara 'RVO OrchidTalk' HCC/AOS

    2. Paph. RVO Blushing Dancer 'Baybay' HCC/AOS

    3. Phrag. Albopurpureum 'Sir Arthur' AM/AOS

I would cry alot - ALOT to not have any of my cattleyas, but I would have to keep these three slippers. The first two because they are unique and special because we got the HCC awards and the last one because it took 10 years to bloom a mature plant. (by the way, guess who is in bud again after only two years this time!!!! )

    Cheers,
    BD
