What a mess Gin. I have my fingers crossed for this year's hurricane season. I'm glad your canopy stayed up at least.

My goodness - it was almost 100 F here yesterday. I am glad that we did not get that mess , though. I would like a little of the rain to cool it off here.

    Cheers,

I got like 2 hours of sleep last night.

There were three tornados within 20 miles of my house last night. I am so beat but thankfully safe.

We had a horrible day here. I had to take shelter in the basement with my bird and cat during the storm. Trees down everywhere along the road. Lightning hit my house and blew out my cable modem, my router, and my VOIP phone box. I finally got a new cable modem and router installed, but am without a phone until I hear back from the VOIP people.

The trees and power poles were snapped off mid-way up. Even the university sent everyone home around 2:30 because it blew out all the phones, power and internet. LJA was working there today and he said that the rain was going sideways and that the doors on his building were opening and closing on their own and he could feel the pressure in his ears.

A huge pine tree missed my car when it fell by about 10 feet. We had several limbs down, but other than the one pine tree, the rest made it. My cymbidium that was hanging on the back porch blew across the yard and its plastic pot was destroyed. It was some kind of wind and rain. I have never seen anything like it here before.

    Cheers,
    BD

OMG.. You guys are sure getting more than your share of this stuff. And Bruce, how scary!! To me, tornados are the worst kind of scary (along with earthquakes), although they are saying there was a lot of damage from straight line winds. Hey, who cares if it's straight line or rotational? Wind causes terrible damage.

Let's hope your weather finally settles down. I have so many friends in the middle of the country, and I worry about each and every one of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

OH my Bruce I am glad that you are safe that is terrible, We get some vicious winds but usually dont do too much damage though we had some earlier in the year that brought trees down and have damaged our aerial but generally we get off lightly, the lightening striking your house really scares me I am terrified of lightening and we have storm warnings out for monday and heavy rain, lets hope it is nothing compared to your ordeal. you all be safe over there from tornados hurricanes storms and the likes when we get hail its big if it is pea size I have seen your tennis ball sized hail that is something else altogether than we get.
