    Default Birthday Paphs.

I was ordering some Paphs for a birthday gift to myself & i wanted a Paph Bel Royal(single growth mature seedling) & i was asked if i was interested in a multi growth plant from the Eric Young foundation with Paph rothschildianum "Mount Milliias" as 1 of the parents.
Of course i said yes before asking the price
It is 5 times the price of the seedling but i,m hoping it will be a special plant.
Just got to wait for a descent weather window for it to be delivered.
I was also advised that they had a Paph rothschildianum"Mount Millias" in spike but i changed the subject quickly before i was tempted.
    I just can,t wait !
Just like a kid at Christmas

forgot to add, that I went to an open day at a local orchid nursery to buy bark ($6) and ended up spending $75 extra bucks on an unflowered Paph Lebaudyanum!!! woo hoo, can't remember who posted the pic of it on this forum but that got this plant on the wish list and now on my bench.

I don't even want to know how much a spiking 'Mont Millais' goes for. At the 2003 NY orchid show, there was a nice large plant of this cultivar on display...complete with a couple of security guards near it at all times.

Thanks for the good wishes guys.
Pics of the "Mount Millias" are superb.
Not even going to enquire about the price because a gh has got to be my next priority.
    Maybe later in the year.

Just had to do the Happy Birthday thing.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Don't feel any guilt - not worth the trouble. I think some of the best birthday presents come from yourself.

Well the Paph Bel Royal(& a few others) arrived yesterday.
It is a bit of a beast.
34" LS for the main growth , 2 large(half grown) growths & a new baby growth. The root system is massive , some of the roots where over 18" long
I had a hard job finding a pot big enough to get them in.
I,ve put them all in s/h as i can,t be bothered mucking about with bark.
    Piccies later.
