Anmd now, Monday morming here, its raining . The pretty white snow is turning to muddy brown slush - yuck! ( But according tpo the weather forecast, this is a local and temporarry aberration ; back to the freeze-up tonight. )
Another reason to stay at home and find some work to do in the greenhouse !.

I am enjoying the winter weather pics..and the squirrel!!!!

We have 77 F today, and its too warm to wear my Christmas sweaters. Oh well, luckily I am not really a snow-bunny...and on the plus side, I can drive home with the top down today, which always improves my commute!

Forecast looks like 48-50 F on Christmas, which is fine with me.

35.7* c is pretty darn warm...I think that's like 96*f here would be.

Personally after watching the news, I am just glad not to be travelling in any snowbound areas this Christmas!

You know Kathi , I was brought up in the Imperial system - had to learn metric as an adult ( we converted our currency) - would you believe that before that, 12 pennies in a shilling, 20 shillings in a pound -one pound one shilling in a guinea - and my firm sent out the bills, every three months - in guineas... If you did that ( being used to good old 100 cents per dollar ( that's metric ! ) you would just love it !. When UK joined the EU ( "Common Market", various other names) metric weights and the ISO became law.
But try converting 1 ton, 12 hundredweight, one quarter, one stone and 14 pounds, at ( say nineteen shillings and twopence halfpenny per ton... no calculator needed - just a lot of ice-packs. But no wonder we were good at mental arithmetic after that training...

ps I winder if any on-line aclculator could do that ?

BTW I got it wrong when I said that minus 26 was the same in C as in F. Maybe minus 40 would be, and hey, we are a lot warmer than that !

its the highest hamilton city has been since records began in the late 1800's so its a milestone alright! then again, our coldest temp was this winter we just had
was -14*C and complete coincidence and freakish weather according to scientists....the coldest hamilton has been other than that is -9*C back in the 1920's....from what my grandad has told me.

oops, correction, it is the second highest we have had, and it wasnt official either because i took it from 3 locations around the city and im not a meteorologist, i never trust the news forecast cause the temps are taken from our local airport, which happens to be 15 minutes out in the country. not that reliable for recording actual city temps.

Airport temperatures are always colder than anywhere else, I think ; perhaps they always take the reading in the middle of the runway, and not many places are quite so exposed.
