    Default Orchid enthusiast's heaven!

I am in heaven! I am looking after an orchid nursery for a week during the absence of the owners who are are interstate at an orchid show.

My duties are light; feed the cat, water the orchids, talk to customers etc etc.

The only problem I have encountered so far is trying to limit myself from buying too many 'bargain basement' plants the owners have culled in preparation for a sale. The prices range from $5 to $20.

    Some of my purchases -

    Ascda. Jakkit Gold 'Moonlight'
    Ascda. Crownfox Golden Dawn
    Vanda Yip Sum Wah (red)
    Ascda. Princess Mikassa 'Patsanan Blue'
    Vanda insignis
Ascda John de Biase 'AV Orchids'
Vanda Midnight Passion x V. Gordom Dillon 'Black'
Rhy. retusa x Rhy. coelestis 'Pink'

Needless to say, the nursery specialises in Vandaceous orchids.

That seems to be the best summer job for an orchid enthusiast. I would exchange my entire pay for beautiful plants, LOL !

That is a fantastic haul, Scrubber. All the ascos and vandas are really very beautiful and that rhyncostylis cross should be a cracker. You know what they say about the dirty jobs.......someone has to do them. Hehehehe

Just think what you'd pay for those orchids at regular price. You should buy them and save yourself from the possibility of future regret. When the question is, should I buy more orchids, and the options are yes or no, I usually go with yes.
