Default Good Lord! Will man's offenses against plain good taste and nature never end?!

Well folks, it has happened. We are no longer alone in our angst with the plants we love being defaced by marketers dying them unnatural colors. No, gentle reader, our aesthetic good taste is not the only casulty of marketing. It has now spread like a virulent plague. No longer are orchids dyed hideous shades of blue or other abhorrent colors the only travesties out there to offend our delicate sensibilities. Cacti/succulents have also fallen victim.

The following pictures are not pretty sights. You may wish to send the children out of the room lest they be traumatized. You may also wish to have a plastic bag or trash can by your side in case the sight of these poor abominations makes you ill and you are unable to get to the bathroom in time to vomit.

My first thought was, why would someone do this? Who would buy one of these? and if I were forced under threat of death, and bought one, where in the world would I put it. Certainly not anywhere in my garden. That would be so insulting to my other plants they would just shrivel up and die.
Not a pretty sight, rather a most horrid sight.
Thanks for drawing this to our attention

I don't understand this trend at all...

Last January, I was in London and visited KEW. I was so disappointed when I visited their gift shop at the end of the visit: they were selling phals with sprayed blue flowers. I thought KEW were better than that.

    Nice intro.

True, these colors are disturbing to us plant lovers- hopefully everyone.

That seems so wrong. I guess the dye will eventually leave the plant and they will return to green.

    cheers,
