Gee, Julie - do you need to borrow bus fare? (Although running is probably much more healthful) I'm not sure we need to see photos of your doctor...

Yes, I read from the beginning of this thread, and several others, too, I'm afraid. Nice little place ya'll got here.
BD hints at an interesting suggestion; will it not be summer down under during the winter solstice up over? Maybe SOMEONE there will host ??
Julie, good luck at Drs. Photos. Having an x-ray? Or do they fix cameras?

Ok, you smart-alecks! Look how polite I'm being in this forum...

Here's a Dr. pic! This is the after. It's white and pretty and doesn't have mustard stains (from the barbie), water damage (from the orchids), geranium petals stuck to it, etc. They just put on a new cast today.

I tore a tendon in my finger last Feb. It hasn't healed well and they stuck me in a cast (to immobilize the fingertip joint straight) and also a splint (to immobilize the middle knuckle bent) in order to try and fix all the nasty stuff that was going on. All of the casting/splinting took place 3 weeks ago, and I have to shlep into Boston each week (an hour each way to the hospital) to have the cast and splint redone, and to measure healing. Needless to say, no piping with this junk on my finger.

So there's more news than is fit to print...

This is a terrible shot, but it was so beastly hot photographing the 'chids in the kitchen (it was about 100 in there - the A/C didn't reach that far). I didn't realize it was so blurry until I got it into Photoshop.

These are blooms 2 and 3. The first is browning today, but lots of stuff here is in the heat. My A/C is tired, my fan is dying...I'll be making a home store run tomorrow morning for improved ventilation in these temps!

Diane, is it my imagination or have Julie's posts been ..er...um...polite (her word)? Maybe that was her EVEIL finger.
Really, Julie, sorry for the hurt. Hope the finger heals soon so you will be in tip top piping shape. The 'chid is beautiful. It doesn't seem to mind the heat too much, but I feel your heatstroke. Have a cool one on me.

    Thanks Bruce and Tmai,

I wasn't digging into the sympathy well - it's just the weekly trek takes about an hour each way; so for one used to working from home, these days get a bit nutso on an ongoing basis. You asked, and I had a pretty new cast! No mustard stains from cookouts!

I'm not minding the treatment - if it will make my finger recover, I'll stand on my head for three months!

Traveling an hour each way in city traffic can make anyone cranky, hope you heal up and hair over real soon.

    Thanks, all!

Things are looking good, finally! I'll be sure to make lots of noise when I'm back to piping!

Know what you mean about the trip! Just got back from taking my dad to the dentist - hour and a half drive each way, and I make the trip about once a week. One four lane only between our two cities. Thank goodness for music!
