Default Funny Pet Tales

What's your funny pet tale? We all have great stories about something hilarious our furry kids have done - please share!
Here's one of my favorites:
Tinker Toy (see avitar) wasn't much of a hunter. One afternoon I was watching him easing across the front yard. He was creeping slowly and crawling on his belly, which was hard for him due to the size of his kitty gut, so I knew something was up. I couldn't see what he was stalking but he was sneaking toward the mailbox. By the time he got to the post he was as flat as a flounder and just quivering with excitement. With his chin on the ground, he never took his eyes off the mailbox. You could see the white rims of his eyes as he rolled them up to look up at the box, and his lips and whiskers quivered as he 'chattered' quietly. He slowly gathered himself to pounce. He KNEW he had a sure kill and he was SO excited! Finally, he sprang! He rocketed up to the top of the mailbox and grabbed but came down (almost) empty pawed. He had grabbed the red postman flag; he thought it was bird! It was a priceless moment. Poor little boy was SO embarrassed. He looked around and saw I was watching (and laughing) so he immediately began bathing and trying to look nonchalant, trying to make me think he had planned it all. What a hoot!

It is a classic cat behavior pattern, when embarrassed, GROOM. You can see it all of the time.

The night before Charley hit, we had filled the tub with water, just in case. Anyway we were not in our bedroom because we had just had bamboo floors installed, so that end of the house was dark. I was doing my normal walk through and I started seeing water on the floor in the dining room. I figured Mr Hicks had spilled something until I got to the living room and the floor was getting wetter. I got a flash light and headed to the master bedroom and there was water everywhere. That was when I figured out the Max, AKA Bubba, had gone into our bathroom to take his evening nap in the tub, OOOPs we forgot to tell him it was full of water. When we finally found him, under the guest bed he was soaked. It took him a long time to go take a nap in the tub.

Tmai, Tinker Toy didn't have a kitty gut, he had an executive figure. Remeber, he was the one in charge.

I have to think about this one.... There are soooooooo many moments to choose from! If not the spike eating, then the vase destroying, if not that then hmmm..... Well, this just happened the other day. We used to have a fish bowl that would sit on the coffee table for the cats to drink out of. Used to being the key words. (fish bowl? I know I know our cats are really strange and will not drink out of a normal water dish. and no there is no fish in the bowl, only clean water!) So anyway, the other morning at about 6 am the little boy was running around and just bassically being a maniac like any other day. Bouncing off of the walls, and attacking Kim while she was still sleeping. While in his crazed state he starts runing from the living room into the bedroom at an unbelievable rate of speed. I would say that at about his sixth pass he decided to jump onto the coffe table going way too fast to slow down. Across the coffee table he went, and with him the fish bowl follows. Across the floor he went still sliding like there is no tomorrow. BANG! Across the floor hundreds of pieces of fish bowl follows; now at a higher rate of speed then he is currently going. Needless to say he figured out that he could not walk on the pieces of glass, nor could he jump over the many pieces all over the place. So out comes this horrid cry! and I do mean horrid. It was a sound that made the hair stand up on the back of your neck! MEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Kim sits straight up out of bed automatically assuming that I was in the midst of strangling our boy. Out she comes unaware of what had happened. Needless to say, she was also stranded in the middle of a tile floor with many pieces of glass surrounding her. So off to get the broom I go wishing that I had a video camera to record the mayhem that has happened so early in the morning. In the end though, everyone made it out alive no worse for the wear.

LOL! Boy, can they talk or what! Your little boy was trying for your attention and to save him! Glad Kim's ok and hope she (and he) knows you weren't the culprit of the event. Wish you had the camera too!!! so where is the FISH BOWL (water dish) now?? (PETA -no fish were harmed in this story)

Tinker used to say Merowow meroWWoWW if we were late with is cottage cheese breakfast. Boy, can they talk or what! His tummy got upset with milk stuff as he got older so we started giving him cantelope. We'd cut one in half for breakfast and he'd be yowling at the door. Wish I could find the pic of him with his face buried in a half a cantalope shell. Nothing but ears and the back of his big ol head.

Successfully removed the fish bowl to the trash. Although Kim did end up cutting her leg on a shard of glass enroute to the trash can. Only a scratch thankfully
