There you go again, Tami...drawing all sorts of wrong conclusions.
I used to go down to FL each winter judging sailing regattas and I took my pipes down to Key West one January. A month later I was heading down for the Southern Ocean Racing Circuit held in South Beach, and a friend asked if I would be taking the pipes.
I laughed and said no way! The pipes don't exactly fit in South Beach. He replied that they'd fit in just fine, if I piped in a thong while roller-blading down Collins Ave.
Now where in this story do I ever suggest I owned a thong? Of course if enquiring minds really insist, I could post a few photos...
Actually, I do have a funny thong story...
Older friends, in their mid-80's, are very free spirits and have a tradition of buying each other underware for Christmas. Now that's not so weird. But they've take the practice to new heights. We used to have an embroidery place in town that would embroider your name, logo, whatever onto coats, polo shirts, and...yes - underware! Don & Bev were faithful customers every Christmas season.
Not wanting to be outdone, I went to Macy's I suspect there are other stores with a broader offering and picked out a suitable men's thong in the right size. The embroidery store lady supplied that nugget of info. On Christmas morning Don was thrilled with the gift and insisted on showcasing it. While his wife had only ever given him undies embroidered on the butt, I had opted for full frontal embroidery. On the front was an embroidered bagpipe with this printing:
Directions for use:
1. Finger
2. Squeeze
3. Blow

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Since this thread has already be hijacked - My Sis and I take the immediate family on a cruise for each 5th additional year anniversary for my folks. Last one was for 55 yrs. We end up at a big table in the center of the dining area. Since the rest of my family is a little less shy and a little more vocal than I am, it is always a meal time full of laughter and teasing. The other diners often look at our table with either envy or annoyance...
Anyway, each of the 3 kids always brings an embroidered clothing item for all the family members - we have had hats, t-shirts, jackets, scarves, etc. For this trip, my brother pulled out the usual "-------- Family reunion 2003" embroidery - - - only it was black embroidery on red thong underwear for everyone!! And my folks stood up with the rest of us to hold them up for the dinner crowd to admire.
After dinner, the captain came up and said "I wish I could sit at YOUR table every night! I have never seen a family have so much fun!"
(PS - Julie if you need an extra pair.... free....)

LOL!
Diane, we can't let your family meet Don and Bev! He'd take a nap each afternoon for an hour or so, and would ask to be woken up at a certain time. One day I had my pipes with me, so at the appointed hour, I stood on a rock under his bedroom window, overlooking Marblehead Harbor, and piped away.
He came out onto the balcony above me in just his Christmas thong. I laughed so hard I had to stop playing. He said he was there in case I needed to check the instruction manual.
