What a great day!!! And it isn't my B-Day yet!!
My orchid society holiday party was today. We had lots of food and played 'Dirty Santa'. This is a game where everyone brings an orchid (orchid related) gift without names - other than male or female or either. We draw numbers and then open whatever gift we choose on the tables. Well, when my number was called, I got this really cool mounted Blc. I was happy.
OF COURSE, someone stole it. --That is how the game works! BUT, that meant that I could get another package or take a gift that has already been opened by another member. AWESOME! - So, I snatched up a Blooming Size (two growth!!!)
Paph. Umatilla (parishii x paph philippinense v. aureum 'Windy Hill')
What a great day!! AND to top it off, my door prize was a
Blc. Goldenzelle 'Lemon Chiffon' AM/AOS
And I won the Society's Slipper Alliance Competition for total awarded points for the year - and got a great certificate to boot!
It sure felt like it was my birthday today.
Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

I'm sure you don't want to be greedy - just pack up that paph and send it on over for a nice California home.....
Congrats!

Thanks so much everyone! Tim, I knew you would love that paph! I will photograph them at some point. This week is final exam week, so I don't get home during the daylight hours. LOL!
Cheers,
BD
