For your language edification... I think the literal translation is something to do with veiling, unveiled, something like that. But it is used in English to present an answer, concept, or freshly prepared dinner from the oven.... that sort of thing. It's sort of a bit like saying Ta-da, but without the magical connotation. Make sense? Probably not...

Oh, it has degraded from just plain silly to snotty has it?

This is sort of reminding me of arguements. What was this tread about anyway?

Lynda, it means you can say anything your want - hijackers aren't noted for their sensitivity!

You can mention anything you want, and we'll think it's all about us! LOL!

    Wink

Should we be calling you McBluebeard?

I remember the point of this thread - although it is probably a worrying trend that we are ascribing human characteristics to plant behaviour (is that the heavy tread of anthropomorphism I hear?) but whilst I think that for most people phals could definintely do with being forgotten for a period (although apparently not be my mother who forgets for a looooooong time) I think that our local house conditions may have more to do with it, and may not help other orchids.

However, since I have hung my vanda directly above the catts, admittedly with the vanda roots hanging amongst the catts' leaves, the roots have certainly taken a lot longer to go white, and the spike is not browning yet after a week so maybe there is hope for me! (Am I jinxing it by stating that?) So maybe together they may do better without my constant interference.

Kerry, are you sucking up to Lynda, trying to get this thread back on track?

What were you, like the teacher's pet or something?

So...do Hoa and Diane remember what day it is today? Think of where you were a year ago...

There, that should permanently sabotage Kerry's efforts!!!

    McBaaaad Arr arr arr!

McMommy, why is the sky blue?
How come grandma can take her teeth out?
How come birds can land on the wire and not get shocked?
Grandpa, is that a spider in your nose?

    and

    Where do babies come from?

I, the Queen of this thread, pronounce that Kerry and Hoa are good and true citizens, while McJulie and Steven are on decidedly shaky ground!

    :-)
