Orchid Bids is an auction site on the forum. Though not a frequent occurrence, some members will post divisions of their plants for trade or auction. Can be a nice way to get plants one doesn't see much around their area and often for less than a professional grower would sell them. However, Bruce has informed me that OrchidBids is out of commission currently as forum is undergoing its updates so it will likely be a while yet until any plants are posted there. (So start saving your pennies. heh. )

We can set up a payment plan. heh

Considering I'm unemployed, I can "beat" that, unfortunately.

True, quite true. While I do enjoy a good fireworks display, orchid flowers last longer, can occur at all times of the year, and some smell better.

TPBM took advantage of the break in the heat to bake some bread.

False, there aren't many more here that I haven't tried yet...and cost is an issue

Tpbm started a new botanical collection recently

False. I have lots of plants, but the orchids are the only ones that could qualify as a collection. Of course, a friend gifted me with a lovely begonia recently, and I could see collecting a few more of those. So maybe there is a new botanical collection in my future.

TPBM has a vegetable garden that is being eaten by rabbits.

False. Living in a third floor apt makes a veggie garden quite impossible. (And if the rabbits could jump THAT high to reach my balcony, I'd be seriously worried. heh)

TPBM is getting distracted now and then from the occasional crunching sounds of one of their pet tarantulas munching on a large katydid (grasshopper relative).

True, probably like most of us. I moved into a larger office and needed something for a corner - the phals called to me at the grocery store and ... voila! ... here I am.

TPBM recently underwent foot surgery and is hobbling around a bit, but grateful to be off crutches now.

Sounds like you need to buy an orchid, Patty.

    That would be a "false".

TPBM is happy to see that Orchid Bids is back because s/he has some orchid divisions to put up for sale/trade.
