Mostly true...not sure I would call myself non-christian, I was raised in a christian church- but consider myself more spiritual than religious...however, I DEFINITELY think the commercialism of Christmas is ridiculous (all commercialized holidays actually....)

TPBM has had or makes corn bread dressing instead of more traditional stuffing recipes for their traditional holiday meals...

TRUE - I prefer the corn bread dressing over stuffing. As a matter of fact, I should post the recipe in the recipe forum. I think it is tasty.

    Cheers,
    BD

TPBM had to scrape ice off of the windshield this morning to get to work.

AHHH True! well, not my windshield, I actually had ice on the INSIDE of my apartment windows!!! We had a ice storm and winds up to 40 mph last night...kept me up! My building was creaking like a haunted house, I had to wear ear plugs just to get to sleep!!! Some of my mini roses' leaves were stuck in the ice against the window Poor things, oh well, they'll survive...its the orchids I worry about!!

TPBM is going to attend their orchid society xmas party this year!

False, I don't belong to any orchid society.

Sorry to hear y'all being so cold there. Houston's low is going down to 35 degree, I just went out there zipped up the plastic cover and put it up with a comforter. Hope they will be OK.

TPBM is cooking/having more soup in winter. What's the favorite?

TRUE, TRUE, TRUE! Darwin is a wonderful cook and has made several sumptuous soups so far with many more in the plans. D makes the most steamy, creamy, thick tomato soup! Also his Black Bean soup is tummy warming, and his corn chowder (served with fritters, of course) is the best. We also love RonNY's Leek and Potato soup posted somewhere in the Outback Kitchen. We are planning on trying Becky's Chicken Tortilla soup next. MmMMMmmm

TPBM has a houseful of relatives from out of town

False...no room for a housefull of relatives in my mini-house! This can be a good thing, and a bad thing.

False! I was raised by hippie/psuedo-disco/new age parents that don't believe in things like flu shots. They taught me that we should rely on our own body's immune system to build up naturally and not try to "encourage" it...best to leave nature alone, as they say These are also the people who gave me my green thumb! Besides, some peopel actually get the flu from taking a flu shot, and I'm just gonna take that chance during the holidays!

TPBM will have to shovel some snow tonight....AND wants Tami's recipe for the steamy creamy tomato soup!!!!!

Oh, YEAH! to both! We only have 4 inches of snow deposited today, and it is light and fluffy so it blows right back in.

TPBM lives in a nice WARM place where orchids can be mailed to them in the dead of winter without fear of frostbite.

False, New York City gets cold in the winter but I still chance it with orchids deliveries. So far it always worked out fine.
I am expecting a flask (will be my first time deflasking!) this week which is a little risky weather-wise. Fingers crossed!

TPBM has a nice vacation planned for this winter!
