I'm so addicted to these I can't help myself. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about them. Today, I went out in search of another orchid and this one followed me home. It had no tag but I think it's a Pinocchio. If anyone knows what it really is let me know.

Lovely one there. I really like its nicely shaped dorsal. It does look very much like pinocchio
I read somewhere that true pinocchio has dimples on its dorsals. Mine does.
The only problem with validity of ID is that different cochlopedilum hybrid/species are bred together many times just to mass produce them cheaply often with misleading labels on the flasks imported from asia. I can't even prove my pinocchio is true (which was labelled), what the heck just enjoy the bloom. BTW yours is nicer than mine. These stay in bloom for a long time.

Very nice! Certainly looks like my noid-pinocchio - I am waiting and waiting and waiting for mine to bloom though!

What do you mean by dimples, Smartie? I have a noid that I have been pretty sure is a Pinocchio variation, based on what is sold around here more often.

    I had it backwards...
Pinocchio or primulinum x glaucophyllum has a smooth dorsal.
while primulinum x moquettianum (once known as glaucophyllum var. moquettianum)usually has dimples or tiny depressions on its dorsal. It also does not give much patterning on its doral, usually fine spots
