I prefer the one that BD posted, not to say that your one Ron isn't a beauty. I just prefer the lighter colour and softer shading of the first one.

Now can anyone tell me why it reminds me of an insect or creature of some sort?!?

So both are very nice, but my question is this...I have a paph labeled "Paph 'Lowii x sib' 'Princehouse' AM/AOS x lowii 'Pinkie'" so is this just a variation of the same theme?

That it would be. I believe the label should read "Paph Lowii x sib ('Princehouse' AM/AOS x 'Pinkie') Indicating that 'Pinkie' is a sibling of the awarded 'Princehouse' clone

I like my lowiis dark and big with a broad shoulder to the petals

Once again, Ron, you've been there with your infinite knowledge...and I am so pleased that you are a steadfast member of this forum. I think my plant is rather young and maybe next year the flower will be larger and darker...I can always hope....

I love the Lowii! All three of these are gorgeous!

My vegetable gardening friend has one, her only orchid that she's had for years after her x father in law passed away and they brought it back for her in bloom. Hasn't bloomed since, but I repotted it last summer and made her move it to a brighter location-and now there is new growth!
