Paphs in Show
My Orchid Society had our Winter Show last weekend and I thought I'd get creative and put the only orchids I have together... so here is what I put into our show
The plants are clockwise from the top - Paph tonsum x Radiant Tiger; Paph Paeony 'Regency'; and Paph Onyx
I'm really loving the red complex Paphs... and two days after the show, another one opened.. always the way, the pretty ones have their own time...
Paph (Varina Vaughn x Amandahill) x Mem Barbara Francis
Actually it does have a slight issue with the pouch and I am hoping that it rounds out more next flowering when the plant is stronger... this is it's first flowering.
Well, thanks for looking.
Cheers
tim

Very nice design, Tim! Love the color combination and height levels compared to the size and color of the basket. Well done!
LOL. It is funny - when I first clicked on this thread, I thought it read "Paphs in SNOW'. I thought, well that should be interesting! I even typed it into the tag field at the top before scrolling down to read the text or see the blooms.
Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

What a creative idea to arrange them in basket together, it looks great.
And regardless of the slight pouch issue, I love the color and the "fullness" of Paph (Varina Vaughn x Amandahill) x Mem Barbara Francis, there's something so "inviting" about this bloom.

Bruce, this made me laugh, I can imagine the excitement in your eyes thinking you were going to see pictures of Paphs breaking through the Australian snowcap ...

Well, with orchids, one never really knows what is possible. hehehe... Glad you got a laugh out of it. I felt a bit silly. Now that I have had my second cup of coffee, I think my brain is connecting better.
Cheers,
BD

Bruce, I hope you know I was not making fun of you, this is the kind of thing that would happen to me all the time, I was laughing "affectionately", if this makes any sense.

Personally, the "winter show" caught me off guard. Took a second to register that for you folks in the southern hemisphere, this is winter time.

Thanks for the kind remarks everyone... I'm looking forward to doing a bit more of these sorts of things... hopefully as I get more plants in flower, etc etc...
