New seedling Complex Hybrid
I have posted this pic elsewhere ut since I'm new here many may not have seen it.
This is the first flowering of a cross I made a few years back. It has the odd little fault but I'm sure it will be ok next flowering.

this is really quite amazing Roy, a really awesome shape, nice colours.
if i was going to be hyper critical, i can see a colour streak on the dorsal, but apart from that what other faults does it have that you have to basically send it to me for disposal?
Award quality yes? oh, how big is the flower?

It looks really nice. I especially like the different colours at the edges of the petals and sepals.

I love the way it appears dipped in green! Very nice complex paph! Thanks for sharing it, Roy.
Cheers,
BD

BD, the only other fault which can't be seen in the pic is that the staminode is twisted slightly. The dorsal measured 80+mm, overall width about 140mm I think. Not huge but I think that too much emphasis is place on size. Many Paphs that are much bigger than this one become unbalanced and thats not a feature I like.

Hi Roy, yes, size isn't everything... and the overall look and especially the shape of this flower should more than compensate for it not being a giant! 14 cm is still quite big though...
looks like you have an eye for breeding.. this and the spotty one are really good quality.

Tim, I would definitely consider this one award quality but given the size issue it might be difficult to get an award. The spotted one has a State award, HCC, I never put it up for an AOC award, which it would have received.
BTW, the group pic Paphs have had some pollen introduction to the as well. Some interesting crosses there.
