    Default Paphiopedilum Helvetia

According to my supplier, a professional "Paffie"-breeder this is Paph. Helvetia, a primary hybrid from philippinense x chamberlainianum.
The pot contains four plants, all breeding with several flowers.

What a pretty set of flowers. Must look amazing, plant and all. I guess having more than one of the same plant might be fun if they looked like that...

Hi Shantyman, this is an absolutely wonderful flower... and the display is just fantastic... I'd love to have even one of these, and to have four plants in a pot is even better.

one thing though, i don't think this is Paph Helvetia. The dorsal and petal colours are more reminiscent of a cross between chamberlainianum and stonei. Search for images of Paph Ethel and hopefully you will see what I mean...

    cheers

What a fantastic site this is. As a newcommer in Orchidland I simply take for granted what I am told when I buy a new "Paffie". But the above comments are highly appriciated, just because I am very eager to find the correct name for my plants. Tim and Meg thanks for your input, I have found the Ethel and will change my records accordingly.
    Cheers, Wim
