Default What's In Bloom April 2009

I'm hoping I can keep this series going and thus show that it is possible to have Paphs in bloom the whole year around.

    so still in Bloom are:-

    Paph Red Magic
    Paph Honey
Paph unknown (the one that was sold as Paph Honey)
(for above three see Thread - What's in Bloom Feb 2009)

and the newly opened this month are:-

1.Paph barbigerum var lockianum (syn Paph coccineum)

    2. Paph purpuratum

    3. Paph henryanum

and of course, this just would be weird if there wasn't the usual ring-in!

    Cattleya labiata

well there we are... hope they aren't too much of an eyesore

    cheers
    tim

I don't know, Tim. I think that Paph henryanum is pretty ugly. You had better pack that one up and ship it over here to me. I know a guy, who knows a guy who will put that orchid in a safe place. hehee... I love them all. Of course, you do grow my most favorite types of orchids: cattleyas and slippers!

    Cheers,
    BD

nice Paph henryanum. mine hasn't bloomed yet, but I'll keep waiting.
Other than the pouch I think the purpuratum has very good shape!

Well done on your blooms, they are beautiful.I dont think I can pick a favourite as I like each one for a different reason, I have a few Paphs and I think it will be a challenge to bloom them, two of them, which were sold as blooming size, are tiny so I suspect they are seedlings so I might be waiting many years before they grace me with a bloom so for now I will sit and drool over your beauties!

Terrific display of beauty! I just adore the species. Just like nature intended them. The henryanum with it's spots is just...wow. A true ladyslipper.
