    Default Cypripedium calceolus - yellow

    We got this bareroot from a local nursery last fall and were suitably pleased that it sprouted this spring. C. acaule grows around here relatively frequently, so I figured the conditions should be amenable - Definately wasn't expecting a flower though!!

    This one doesn't have the purple like Drosera's beautiful post.

    Gorgeous. It will be several weeks before the Cypripediums will be blooming here. It's really nice to look at yours as I anticipate the blooming season.

    I guess that is the trade off for not being able to keep tropicals outside - it helps ease my jelousy a bit though.
