    Talking Paphiopedilum Hsinying Laser

    And finally for today, a vini paph orchid to share. This Paphiopedilum has another bud forming under the open flower and it has been in bloom for some time. Hope you like it!

    Real nice. Love the stripes.

    Bruce, unless you've gotten this awarded, there is no FCC listed for this,, only an AM gotten by Stones River in 2003.

    You are correct. I just checked the tag. The second parent in the cross has the FCC/AOS. My tag only had the cross listed, so I checked Orchidwiz to see if the cross was named. The FCC/AOS should have been inside the cross. I will update the title post. Thanks for catching that. I would have written it that way on my new tag too. Sheesh!

    It's interesting to see how many paphs are out there right now with only parental names--I'm wondering why the breeders aren't naming them. Anyone know?

    Bruce, this one's another winner. I have really come to like Laser crosses, as I mentioned in another thread.

    My guess is that the breeders don't care. Most of these are massed produced as pot plants by huge nurseries and are probably all wholesaled off in flask to large wholesalers that care even less.

    There may also a language issue. A lot of these plant are bred in Asia.
