    Default Paph. Brecko Wishmist

Here's the bloom on its own:

It's a successive, but unfortunately the next bud has blasted (that's the brown spot to the left of the pouch). I still have hope for the one after that.

Nice set up Sue, the screen really sets the plants well. And that painting is also very interesting!! What does the writing say? As for the lamp, yes you're right it doesn't quite sit well with the rest of the set-up... maybe it's the style not going with the others, would that be art noveau / deco? After having said that, i actually really like that lamp...

I got the plant from our Botanical gardens, in the discount area of the gift shop ($10). They were closing out a whole buncha plants which weren't in bloom in order to prepare for the big yearly orchid show, for which they order a couple thousand plants for the gift shop.

I'm not sure where they got the plant, but the cross was registered by Breckenridge orchids, if I remember correctly. They do mostly Phals (I think), but they've done a few 'novelty' Paph crosses, like this one. Don't know anything about them, and I don't think they're selling this one anymore, but I might be wrong.

Tim – if you click on the link underneath the picture on this page, that will take you to my photo gallery. Once there, if you click on the photo, this will bring you to a full size (huge) version of the photo. This will get you a much better look at the painting (and for that matter of the plant and it's companion plant). The writing says
    oneandoneandoneoneone
    on the first line, and
    oneanddoneanddonedonedone
    on the second.

Sue, I think you're so fortunate to be able to display your plants inside. That looks really elegant. We, unfortunately, have cats somewhat akin to Tim's chewing dogs...

NICE painting Sue! It has a very idyllic feel. I don't know if it's just me, but the first thing I thought of was a lovely huge eucalyptus tree trunk (the reddish-brown) with a person (in a blue wetsuit) about to jump off an embankment for a swim.

    Cheers

Tim – You seem to be looking at a slightly different painting than I see when I look at it . . . but I'm glad you like it.

Gin – What about the books and lamp make you think of anti-canine aggression? I am confused.
