    Default A very nice and small Paphiopedilum need ID

    I just found a very small Paphiopedilum almost half year ago and I try to find its ID but I cant.
    If amy of you know about this species or know some Paphiopedilum specialist please help me to find the ID for this.

    Hi Canh,
    I think it's Paphipedilum malipoense var hiepii.
    Type: Northern Vietnam, prov. Tuyen Quang, distr. Tuyen Quang, everygreen forest on limestone hills 500-600 m. It's from the book Slipper Orchids of Vietnam.

    This is a Paph I would suggest that has NEVER been seen before. A NEW species.

    Thanks everyone for your reply. I ask Dr.Nguyen Tien Hiep (a Vietnamese Paph specialist) to check. It would be good if this is a new species.

    I also think can be a new species but I also remember of something similar(but never seen a photo) descried in southern china called P.micranthum var. globulosum.
    But as they have describerd as "micranthum" probably the colours were different...but the description of the form of the flower is very similar.
