Have you ever stayed in Bangkok?
I have no idea about the climate at you placed compared with in Bangkok.
Many rothschildianum grown in Bankok can provide flowers with 3 per 1 spike.
If the climate at your place and Bangkok ( as very hot in Thailand) are similar.
I am sure that you can see flowers of rothschildianum. ^V^

The multi florals types do have in Thailand but not available to buy as I mention before.
They are spread among big farm as their collection not for sale.
Those that I show here I got from Mr. Krairit Vejvarut.
He is the former president of Royal Thai Orchid Society and my slipper teacher.
There is a regret that he has already passed away.T_T
By the way, from what you ask
Yes I do live in Chiangmai.
In addition, I also do know Ajarn Chalit from Maejo University.^V^
    Hi Khun Kitjapol,

You may wish try and buy from overseas. Every year many of the Thai growers visit the Taiwan International Orchid Show and I have seen them loading cartons of plants including many multiflorals. This show is held every March. I missed this year's show.
It is a small world. Kindly send my regards to Khun Chalit and his wife Siriporn. I hope one day we could meet up when I am visit CM again. I have covered a fair bit of the North East and North West of CM.

    Regards,

    Joseph.

Yes Bonus I have been to B'kok a few times but always in the cool season i.e around December and January and I think this cooler spell of a few weeks (esp at night) stimulated rothchildianum to bloom. Here in the north we do have a short dry cool season around Dec-Jan unlike the rest of Peninsular Malaysia and S'pore, but nowhere as cool as in B'kok which is further north. My place is just 100km south of Haadyai. In 5 years my friend's rothchildianum has bloomed only once and he lives in Perlis which is 40 km away from me. Other multifloras like philippinense, stonei, parishii and even sanderianum have bloomed quite easily here, while lowii does give the occasional blooms.

By the way my wife's father was born and brought up in Bangkok and most of her relatives are still in B'kok. Their family name is Chuankasem, while my maternal great grand parents are from Phuket.

Exactly correct as you mentioned as I am trying to find and buy pahs from oveseas with appropriate prices. The reason of this finding is for simply collection. I still contact some Thai growers buying paps from abroad. The size of plant That I can buy is too small. The big size turns to be expensive.
I would like to get medium to big size with appropriate prices. Therefore I decided to find friends, who are orchid lovers with hope that my wish will come true.^V^
By the way, very surprised that you ask about Khun Chalit.
I am happy to know you and wish to meet you some day in CM.^V^

    Hi Bonus,

Make it a point to visit the next Taiwan show. You will be surprised at the prices of those multi florals unless you are looking for exceptional clones.
Pse convey my regards to Khun Chalit as I have not seen him for more than 2 years.
