    Default Paph. liemianum

cute member of section Cochlopetalum, successive-blooming.

Discovered in 1971 in northern Sumatra, Paph. liemianum is a distinctive member of section Cochlopetalum, the sequential-blooming multifloras. It was first thought to represent a subspecies of Paph. chamberlainianum (now accepted as victoria-reginae), but can be easily distinguished by its leaves, the undersurfaces of which are heavily flecked in red, and which actually have small hairs along the proximal edges. Moreover, the flowers of Paph. liemianum are almost always characterized by relatively-thick white picotees along the margins of the dorsal sepals. Paph. liemianum is an easy grower given intermediate to low light levels and intermediate temperatures, and mature plants will produce a long succession of flowers from each inflorescence.

I remember that ~5 years ago you used to post lots of beautiful orchid pictures with info on culture and habitat. Glad to see these, and hope to see more.
