    Thumbs up Paphiopedilum sanderianum

I got this from Mr.Krairit Vejvarut, the former Thai Royal Orchid Society.
He brought and participated a local orchid contest in Chiangmai.
After the contest finished, he gave to me and encouraged me to keep growing.
He said that this time it gave 4 flowers, next will be 5.
When I see this paph it recalls me of him.
Rest in peace my great teacher of paphiopedilums.

Magnificent, Bonus! No wonder sanderianum is referred to as the 'Queen' of paphios.

I managed to get one last year (very expensive) but it was not a very healthy plant. I still bought it because it is really very difficult to find one here. It seems to be recovering and is putting out a new fan. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    He is like my uncle.
    He taught me:
    - how to make seedling for paph.
    - What other paphs from abroad look like
    - Knowledge about growing paph.
    - How to seek beautiful orchid to participate an orchid contest.
    - Give me a chance to join an orchid contest as an orchid judge especially paph.
    - Introduce me to Thai orchid society.
    - Encouge me when I face the problem in my life.
and more that he made for me.

This sanderianum was proposed with very high price.
Many Thai growers need this sanderianum.
They came to his house several times to buy.
Finally it is easily given to me through an orchid contest among the envy of the others.
I just asked him that I want to grow sanderianum where can I find it.
He replied me "You can get mine on that table(in the orchid contest). After the contest finished, you can bring it home".He gave me a piece of paper as the evidence to get paph the He went back home.

The late Mr Vejvarut seemed like a very nice and generous man. Was he ever an assistant to Prof Rapee Saggarik?
