    Very demanding, exciting, high litigation risk, early burn-out but otherwise it gave me the lifestyle I wanted... isn't for everyone.... and if I had to do over, I'd find some other parallel work situation so when I got to the "end" of my ER days, I could make that transition to something else and be able to continue working and then I wouldn't have retired as early in my medical career as I did.

    That sounds exactly like what I've heard so far.
    The ER docs at the hospital i volunteer at are so high energy!
    Right now im very interested in neuroscience and am trying to land a research position at UC Irvine in their Alzheimers projects for next summer. Spending this summer doing organic chemistry (absolutely love it, by far my favorite class thus far.) I just cant wait to get out of undergrad and into med school!
