Default paph hirsuitissum x paph hookerae

I call this the poor man's lowii ! It has only been open a couple of days so the petals aren't through doing their thing, also, the dorsal is continuing to straighten . Picture doesn't show it ,but the halo on the dorsal is quite distinct. I'm happy....

    Hi Gilda,

My hirsutissianum took a bit over a week to fully deploy and curl. Please post intermediate shots if you can, or at least a final to show how the mature flower might differ from the young bloom.

Thanks - and a great cross!

    Default Update pictures for Julie

Julie requested pics to see how the petals twisted and curled over the next few days...they pretty much did what yours did Julie ....it's off to the prom now(Smokey Mt. Orchid Show this weekend) .I sent it out of curiosity...

btw, that cross was registered in 2003 as Paph. Lawless Jungle Journey. another one of those moronic self-promoting names, although it could be worse--at least it's not Wossner Hirsute Hooker.
