Default Paph Ma Belle (bellatulum x malipoense)

An interesting 'toilet seat' paph. For those of you who are too young to remember the old padded toilet seats I call the paphs with the huge overblown lips by this term. This cross has a shorter stem than malipoense due to the bellatullum influence. The only problem is that it does need support as the flower is too heavy for the spindly stem.

LOL - I've always admired Ma Belle, Jane, but it never conjured the toilet seat image for me. I wonder why? It certainly fits! Makes my butt feel more cushiony just looking at it!

    Lovely bloom!

Boy, that is pretty unusual looking for a Ma Belle! Not to mention that Ma Belle is pretty strange looking to begin with.

Your toilet bowl reference just freaked me out. Mainly because it's all blood red in the inside of the bowl. Very horror-film-esque.

Well I like the red speckles, it's a nice contrast with the
    kiwi(?) green.
Good growing, thank you for sharing

That's brilliant Jane, really well photographed. Something like that certainly is making me like the brachy hybrids more and more..

    Thanks and cheers,

Now that is different ! Never seen one red inside either also, never thought of the "toilet" seat look ! That will always pop into mind now when I see these big pouched things ! Thanks for sharing Jane.
