The warts don't bother me, kinda like them !...mostly the dorsal not raising, and yes, I did not leave it for 2-3 days to do it's thing. Once it raised , I brought it in to the sunroom to decide if I liked it ! I will know the next time to leave it a few more days! Thanks Jason !
I am not familar with John Jack ???
This one is the blackest colored paph I have seen, too.

It deserves a second bloom. Who knows what that might bring.

Tim's right, John Jack is S. Gratrix x Psyche, a pure white/speckled brachy hybrid. Although you do see an occasional maudiae type x brachy that is hellishly dark, I don't see any brachy influence in the photo. Might be worth checking with the vendor.

Regarding that pot tipping thing, honestly I'm too lazy to do that and too impatient as well. I usually just let the sucker open up normally and 3-4 days later I'll stake it with a bunch of twist ties, including one right up at the top to make it face upward.

I'd bloom it again then give it to a beginner if it is unworthy.

Heck, there may be a newbie on this list that would like to have such a plant!
