    Default Phrag. Suzanne Decker

This hybrid is a cross of Phragmipedium kovachii x Phrag. Cape Sunset. I am growing it semi hydroponically. What an amazingly large flower for a Phrag. kovachii brings some wonderful genes into Phrag hybidizing.

This plant is special to me for the Decker's are close personal friends and I have been involved in the breeding and blooming of the kovachii hybrids, from traveling to Peru to see Phrag kovachii, and visiting the lab where these were grown. to potting the seedlings once they were deflasked and getting to see the first of these to bloom.

Wow, that's a beauty, Ron! I've been keeping an eye out for kovachii hybrids and this is why.

Mitch Phrag. is such a wonderful genus! From your "handle" I assume they are some of your favorites. Hopefully, I will have more kovachii hybrids coming into bloom this year. This one has bloomed twice before for me

Yes, they are absolutely my favorites with Paph.s coming in a close second place. And, for me anyway, they are relatively easy to grow.

Your involvement in the hybridizing/breeding of these Phrags. has certainly paid off. This bloom has a refined beauty and the lip is almost porcelain like. AL
