A favourite of mine.( I've almost always got one flower on one of my plants - alas, never a lot to make them worth showing ) . Variable - many are much darker pink. And of course it has been made and remade lots of times, because it flowers so quickly from flask. Also, at least in UK, Phrag schlimii - one of the parents - exists in many forms ; in fact you can often tell the Phrag fiends at a show - they are the ones near coming to blows in front of a P.schlimii over the question of is it, or is it not the real McCoy.
And then of course the besseae parent - a lot of different forms there, too.
You know the story of the discovery of besseae ? The lady in question (Liz Besse ) went down the slope to answer a call of nature behind a bush , and found the first one known to orchid science. That's realy serendipity !

What a great story! I don't know if I'll get to the place where besseae grows here in Ecuador, but I might - I'm here for two more weeks.

So, the correct name is Phragmipedium Hanne Popow.
And here is one of the best clones I've every seen.

WOW! That's fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I can't change the name on the post, but I will correct it where I can. Thank you for your help with this!

Men are allowed to go behind bushes too, you know !
But the only thing I ever found behind a bush was another bush....
