    Default Paph rothchildianum in bloom

This is my Paph rothchildianum blooming with 3 flowers, but I can't take credit for the blooming of this paph. I've had this plant for about 4 years but couldn't bloom it in the lowlands and so I had a friend in the Cameron Highlands (elev.1500m) to take care of it since last August. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the Cameron Highlands for the Chinese New year (from 28Jan - 7Feb) and saw the Paph rothchildianum flowering.

Very brilliant colour and markings. At least you did justice to this orchid by taking it to a place where it can bloom. So you deserve to be congratulated for that.

Beautiful paph orchid, Yew Sung. I am glad your friend was able to give it the right conditions to bloom. It is a true beauty.

    Cheers,

Very 'Regal' looking blooms. You obviously made a wise choice when this was relocated to a cooler environment. Many people would not part with their orchid in this for instance. AL

I agree with you, I have the red color pouch and even got wing span almost about 16 inches but refuse to bloom, sometimes by luck it's produced more than 3 flowers. I would say your is very nice one.

Thanks everyone for looking in. I've brought it back with me to the lowlands and will try putting ice cubes in the pot at night - but not before dividing the plants as there are 5 fans in the clump.
