    Default Paph villosum v boxallii

There are several "species" which are sometimes considered to be sub-species, or maybe just varieties of P.villosum. Sometimes considered to be different species - and some taxonomic botanists have shuttled between the two opinions. So maybe this is P.boxallii. Whatever, it's a nice , distinct flower, although obviously out of the same drawer as villosum (v.villosum) but then so is P.insigne, etc etc ( out of the same drawer).
I have a couple of plants of boxalli ; so far I have not persuaded them to proliferate and expand towards multi-flowered specimens, but I keep trying.
When I was going through the collection the other day I found a third variety - v. annamense , and it is so long since I saw that in flower that I have forgotten what it looked like ; I have given it a pep-talk, and maybe next year I can show it too.
