This is a discussion on Paph delenatii x micranthum within the Paphiopedilum, Phragmipedium, Cypripedium IN BLOOM forums, part of the Orchid Photography category; I can't believe that this cross has not been registered . but that is what ...
I can't believe that this cross has not been registered . but that is what Orchidwiz says. Correction - mea culpa - I looked up paph delenatii x Cyp micranthum... whoever would have thought that the same speciic name could be used for members of allied genera ? You woild ? Oh - it's just silly old me then... exit left bowing deeply....
Whats to say about it ? Not a perfect bloom - I'll blame the weather - far too much sun this year !
Hang around and it may do better next year.

Really pretty shade of pink.
It is still a lovely slipper orchid even with a bit of heat damage.
Such a beauty - it looks like it's standing up on its tip toes saying, "Here I am! Over here! Look at me!" I love the bright yellow and red contrasting with the pink.
Paph Magic Lantern (micranthum x delenatii), registered 1994. Nearly 90 awards and registered as a parent at least 17 times. One of my favorites.
In my original post, I said - I can't believe that this cross has not been registered . but that is what Orchidwiz says.
I have now amended that posting to say - Correction - mea culpa - I looked up paph delenatii x Cyp micranthum ( instrad of paph delanatii x paph micranthum ) ... whoever would have thought that the same speciic name could be used for members of allied genera ? You would ? Oh - it's just silly old me then... exit left - covered in confusion, bowing deeply....
How inspiring! I have a tiny paph delenatii as part of my foray into species, and have seen the catalog photos, but nothing truly credible. I know this is a x, but it strongly resembles what a pure delenatii is supposed to look like, doesn't it? I keep forgetting I even have this little guy - he's so low-profile next to the Hsinying and the Burgundy noid - maybe now I'll pay a little more attention!
