Thanks again Michael. I really appreciate your opinion re the blooms. I think this orchid is much inferior to any of its wild ancestors. I hope I'll be able to photograph my philippinense intact when it blooms sometime in February. I'll be wary of the birds ( crested bulbul) this time.

Yew to me that paph is so nice, the most important thing they should be able to grow profusely and produce another pretty flower for the next season without fail.

Please post a picture of the leaves. I don't think it is Shin Yi Fireball either, that should be all multiflora. Looks like a lot of paph Milmanii (callosum x philippinense) floating around.. Here's one for comparison:

*Note that some Taiwanese suppliers have been known to mislabel flasks and such, whether intentionally or not.

Thanks everyone for looking in and for your comments. There is a happy(?) ending to this as the vendor has taken back the plant and refunded me the money for it - but not before I got an earful for not knowing much about orchids in general and paphios in particular.

How odd. Haven't heard of a vendor berating a customer, particularly if it was the vendor's fault in supplying mislabelled plants in the first place...
