    A little instant gratification.

Paph. (Sunshine Glory x niveum) is a new brachypetalum hybrid that tends to produce white flowers with maroon speckling. The grex contains niveum, godefroyae, and concolor in its background, and the niveum influence keeps the plants very compact. Most of the brachy hybrids are easy growers under standard brachy care: bright but diffuse light, warm temperatures, and pure water free of dissolved salts. These plants are prone to root and basal rots, and should dry out considerably between waterings. Care should be taken to avoid burying the base of the plant with medium, and good air movement is a necessity. These plants should only be fertilized sparingly, and it is often recommended to add a small amount of crushed oyster shell as a topdressing since the progenitor species usually grow on limestone cliffs in the wild.

thanks Gilda. Brachys don't last as long as your average paph, no more than 3-4 weeks I'd say. Some of them will give you more than one flower though, especially concolor, or well-grown mature plants.
